A few months back I joined a website called About.me which at the time was in 'beta' mode. I was interested in this company because I am interested in these kinds of things, but truthfully I had a hard time seeing the value in. Today, I feel differently.
With every new year there is always a focus on renewal. I suspect 2011 will be no different and at least digital speaking, beginning a new project can be a major challenge. In fact, you could even argue that the more you know about digital, the harder the project can potentially become.
One of the items we regularly do with our clients is something we call a "Digital Road Map", and while I'm not going to pitch you on hiring us to do one for you, I am going to shed a little light on our own process in the hopes that if you are going it alone, or even with another vendor, you might be able to deploy some of this strategy into your own process.
One of the places where I try to remain productive is with my bookmarks. Yesterday my solution was Delicious, but today its Evernote. If you are not familiar with bookmarks, here is the Wikipedia entry on the subject but the easy answer is bookmarks are used to mark specific webpages. Most web browsers come with a bookmarking solution but typically they are not cloud based solutions. Also, the options with your browser tend to be limited in terms of abilities. Translation - using a third party for your bookmarks tends to be a much better solution.
Social Media is mainstream - Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been named the 2010 Person of the Year by Time Magazine.
