Hidden among all those great nuggets from "the Summer of Google" has been this new service that I found by accident, and I can't even get back to called "What do you love?" which I guess can best be desribed as a search engine mahsup. It really is one of those things that you have to see to understand but this is a highly visual approach to search.
The past few months have been a real exciting time for social sharing! The big players are all working hard to get your love, and with the increased heat, the value proposition has been climbing up. One piece of the puzzle that can be a challenge is the ability to place your social sharing buttons on both your single posts and your blog page and still have those buttons tracks the number of shares. In this post I will outline how to do it along with providing some of the code for social sharing buttons on your WordPress site. Social sharing buttons are a great way to encourage your readers to not only share your content, but these buttons can also work as great signals to your readers by providing "social proof" for each post, which in turn should encourage more of your site visitors to read your posts.

I'd say my only quick comment in addition to everything the have mentioned is that I would include social profiles up near the top along with RSS - RSS is great for insiders, but for people who don't make their living on the web other platforms, most notably Facebook seem to be considerably more relevant. It appears that Google has rolled out a new search by voice feature on their main search. Take a look at the attached screengrab from earlier today. While the summer Doodge was fun, almost lost in all the color was the headline - that little tiny microphone icon laid into the search bar.
